Thomas S. Bellavia, MD, DABFP
Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice
Dr. Bellavia is a product of the New York City school system and graduated from New York University’s Washington Square College with a BA in Biology. He immediately entered the University of Rome Medical School and did his postgraduate training in medicine at the Hackensack University Medical Center. After serving in the United States Army Medical Corps in Texas and Virginia, reaching the rank of Major while being Chief of Professional Services at Kenner Army Hospital, he returned to the attending staff at Hackensack University Medical Center.
Dr. Bellavia has been an advisor to both the State of New Jersey and Federal Governments on health care issues and was recently invited to serve on the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services Task Force on Chronic Kidney disease. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Correctional Medicine, Senior Attending in the Department of Family Practice, Attending in the Department of Medicine, and Associate Professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
Dr. Bellavia is a member of the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Academy of Family Practice and its Foundation, the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is Vice President and Senior Medical Director of MDclick, providing HIPAA compliant health information technology and application integration services for physicians, hospitals, patients, and insurance providers.
Active in many additional organizations with philanthropic missions, Dr. Bellavia commenced his practice of Family Medicine in Wood-Ridge and subsequently created Heights Medical Associates in Hasbrouck Heights where he presently sees patients daily.
Carl J. Renner, MD
Dr. Renner was born in New Jersey and was educated in the New Jersey school system. He graduated with honors in Pre-Med courses from Clemson University and received his Doctor of Medicine and Surgery degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Mexico. Dr. Renner did his internship and Internal Medicine residency at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark.
Upon completion of his residency, he joined Heights Medical and became a member of the Internal Medicine department at Hackensack University Medical Center where he has Senior Attending privileges and teaches residents in their Internal Medicine department.
Dr. Renner also prepared the next generation of physicians as a part of the faculty of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where Heights Medical welcomes medical students to the office as a part of their required clinical rotations.
Dr. Renner serves the Bergen County Medical Society as a member of the Judicial Committee and is an active member of the Glen Rock Board of Health and Medical Doctor of Glen Rock Ambulance Corp. He is a member of the American Medical Association and Medical Society of New Jersey. He is the founder of Heights Home Care PC, which actively provides house calls to the general public on request and as so, is one of the very few physicians providing this needed service to so many seniors and homebound patients.
Joyce Feliciano MSN, RN, APN-C
Ms. Feliciano is a native New Jersyian, who completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jersey City State College. She earned her Masters Degree in Education at New York University. Her professional career consisted of many years as a Registered Nurse in Intensive Care Units and the Emergency Department at the Hackensack University Medical Center.
As an Assistant Professor of Nursing, she taught Nursing at Lehman College, Manhattan Community College in New York and at Rutgers University Program of Nursing in New Jersey.
Ms. Feliciano then undertook the career course to Nurse Practitioner at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). This additional study included four more years of training in adult health, family health, and acute care. She has successfully become Board Certified in Adult Health, Family Practice and Acute Care.
Ms. Feliciano joined Heights Medical in 1994 as a Nurse Practitioner with all the privileges of practice. She is a member of the attending staff at Hackensack University Medical Center and brings a great deal of expertise in medicine and health care to Heights Medical.
Maria Monda, APN-C
Ms. Monda is a Nurse Practitioner, specializing in primary care. Prior to joining Heights Medical in January of 2013, she practiced with an Internal Medicine Group in Wayne, N.J. Since 2001, she is also employed as the School Nurse in the Wood Ridge School District at the Catherine E. Doyle School, and continues in this position. Her early career was spent in Community Nursing as a Visiting Nurse, Hospice Nurse and then as the Home Care Coordinator at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. She has also had vast experience in Acute Care, both at Hackensack University Medical Center and at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.
Ms. Monda is a Member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tao (National Nursing Honor Society) and is the Winner of the Wood-Ridge Governor’s Award in 2009.
Maria is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University College of Nursing and Caldwell College’s School Nurse Certification Program. She received her Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice Nursing from William Paterson University, graduating with High Honors.
Ms. Monda has contributed many hours of research into her special interest, Alzheimer’s Disease and the Plight of Family Caregivers.
